Now Denial

“Tickets” for the 10-Year Anniversary Party are on sale now, click here to buy.  They’re not actually tickets, more like a will-call list.  But this is to ensure that everyone who wants to get in can get in, and that things don’t get overwhelmingly crowded.  So get your tickets now or chance not getting in.  There will be a very limited amount available at the door at the start of the show as well.  See you Saturday!

Now Denial has been nominated for best punk/hardcore act in the Boston Phoenix 2012 Best Music Poll.  Click here to head over and cast your vote, and while your at it you should probably vote for our pals Ramming Speed in the best metal act category.  Also check out this review of our split 7″ with Get Laid at Razorcake.

We’re getting stoked for the 10th anniversary show next month, and brushing up on some old favorites to celebrate.  Our good friend John McCarthy created the awesome flyer you see below, and these will be available at the show as well, with a surprise attached.  See you at the show.

Ten years ago today we started Now Denial in a basement in Lowell, MA.  So much has happened over the years… lots of great times, new friends, old friends, and tunes.  It’s pretty awesome to look back on it all, considering that we’re still at it all these years later.  We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of our friends who were there in the beginning, and everybody we met along the way.  Thank you all for setting up shows, going to shows, putting out records, buying records, letting us crash at your place, partying with us, and a million other things that kept us going.  Thanks!

On to news!  Unfortunately we had to drop off Get Better Fest this weekend.  Though we’re looking forward to May… we’ve got the Tor Johnson Records 10th anniversary show down in Providence on May 12th.  Then we’ve got our own anniversary show in Allston on May 26th.  Both will be awesome, and full of surprises including a lot of bands reuniting, so don’t miss out.  We’ve got a track on the TJR 10th anniversary comp as well… the details will be revealed soon.

Lately we’ve been working on new jams, and things are shaping up nicely.  We’ll likely demo some new songs in a few months, and maybe you can catch a preview at a show.  Dino has been recording a new album with Furnace, to be released later this year.  I’ve also been giving our first album, Power to the Mountain, a complete overhaul.  The original tapes were digitized, and they’re being completely remixed and mastered.  I won’t say too much about it, but it sounds amazing comparatively, it’s like breathing new life into old songs.  Look for details on that soon.

That’s it for now.  See you at the anniversary shows.

Just updated the multimedia page with a brand new, bandcamp-driven audio player that includes all of our releases.  Pretty sweet, right?  Yea.  The first of many improvements… expect a whole new website this year.

2011 was a hell of a year… definitely the busiest we’ve been in years.  Thanks so much to everyone who stuck with us.  Last night was an awesome end to our year as we got to rip shit up with our buds Choke Up and Ramming Speed.  2012 is going to be a busy year… we’re taking (sort of) a break from shows for a little while so we can write a new (long overdue) album.  We’ve started writing already and we’re stoked as fuck on the direction the new material is going.  Not sure the specifics of how anything will be released, but we’ll post more about the new shit as it comes along.

2012 (specifically April) marks our 10-year anniversary, so expect some surprises to celebrate.  It’s also the 10-year anniversary of Tor Johnson Records, who we’ve been working with pretty much since we started, so congratulations to Paul/Tor Johnson for being one hardest working dudes/labels in hardcore around here and continuing to put out great music.  We’ll be playing the TJR 10th Anniversary show on May 12th… I’m not giving any details away now, but believe me when I tell you this is one show you really do not want to miss!

So once again, thanks for the support, and we look forward to new tunes, new releases, bunches of shows, and continuing to venture out of New England here and there to rip other cities up.  Happy New Year fuckers!
