Paul came up to Lowell last night to hang out and bring us “Facemelter” CD’s!  So we finally have them in our hands.  We also have awesome posters.  Here is what the CD’s look like:  inside, outside.  And here is what the poster looks like.  You can head over to the webstore to order the CD and the digital download versions of the album.  Also, right now, if you buy a copy of the “Facemelter” CD, you can add a “Power to the Mountain” CD for only two bucks!

And don’t fret, the vinyl will be ready soon.

Facemelter CD’s are in!  You can buy them from Tor Johnson in their webstore.  We’ll have our copies soon, so I’ll be adding them to the merch section, as well as the option of buying a digital download of the album.  Vinyl packaging will be done soon.

Unfortunately I’m writing with bad news.  John needs shoulder surgery, and due to this, we’ve had to cancel all upcoming shows.  This was an urgent matter, and we obviously wouldn’t have canceled the shows otherwise.  So please bare with us, and hopefully John will be back in action soon.

I have no solid time-frame on how long we’ll be out of commission as far as shows, but things will still be happening in the meantime.  The new CD’s will be in our hands in a few weeks, and we’re finishing up the LP artwork layout right now.  The vinyl is already here, and just awaiting the packaging.  So the CD will probably be ready first, but the vinyl will soon follow.

Obviously we won’t be able to play a record-release show once we have the album in either format because it will be too soon.  But you’ll be able to order them directly from us, as well as from the respective labels, and soon after the release you should be able to find them in independent record stores and online distros/stores.

Aside from Facemelter finally being released, we’re going to continue progress on our new material.  We’re working on a few more new releases in the not-too-distant future.  We hope to be able to record this winter, and have tentative plans to do a few split releases for the first half of ‘09.

I’ll post an update when the CD’s are in and available to order.  And we’ll most likely put up a pre-order for the LP’s at that time.  There’ll be a limited number of records with different packaging, on green vinyl, and possibly hand-numbered if we get around to that… those will only be available from us, either by mailorder or at shows (once we start playing out again).

Finally, I shit you not, “Facemelter” is done and about to be pressed!  We’ve been working diligently on getting the artwork digitized and worked into the CD template… and just finished this morning.  So the CD’s are going to be sent off to be pressed, and in the meantime, we’ll be getting the LP artwork screen-printed.  The vinyl is already here, and just awaiting packaging.  Now we’re shooting for an October release, and there’s no reason that shouldn’t happen at this point.

Aside from that, we’ve got a bunch of shows coming up.  This weekend in Lowell, then a few shows in the Boston area of the next couple months.  Probably more to come.  And we’re working on new material as well, already thinking about what we’re going to do next.

Anyway, I’ll post an update when the album is available.  We’ll be playing a couple of record release shows.  Keep on keepin’ on, dudes.

We’re looking at a July release for Facemelter now, as the artwork will be finished by the end of the month, then we just have to wait for the CD’s to be pressed.  In addition, we already have three new songs.  We’re planning on writing a few more, and then possibly releasing a few splits.  We’ll figure that out later, we’re just stoked that Facemelter will finally see the light of day soon.  We’ll have a series of release shows around New England after it’s finished.

Speaking of shows, my sincere apologies to anyone who was counting on seeing us at the show at Church a few weeks ago.  We had to cancel on account of me being very sick.  It takes a lot for me to actually miss a show, but this was pretty haggard.  Anyway, we just got on a show at The Abbey Lounge in Somerville in mid-June, though there will probably be another show before then.

You know, I just realized that, as of yesterday, Now Denial has been rocking for six years. Crazy, right? Moreover, I’ve been playing with John, Joe, and Jared for about 8 or 9 years now. Shit, Joe and Jared have been doing things together for probably over ten years at this point. We love all our friends, thanks a bunch for coming to shows, yelling along, and being with us all these years. Cheers, fuckface!

We’ll be playing our first show since November on April 17th at Church in Boston.  Should be a good time, though I’ll have been awake for a little over a day by the time we play, so we’ll be playing early.  Probably first or second.  Come out, it will be good to play a show again, and we might even play one of the new jams.  Speaking of shows, there are a few other potential upcoming shows in Boston and Vermont.  I’ll post info once everything’s definite.

So, like I mentioned, there are new jams!  We’ve been getting together pretty regularly to write new material, and it’s definitely some of the best stuff we’ve ever done.  We’re all really stoked on it, we’ve demo’d a few of them, but it’ll be awesome once we get a good recording of the new stuff.  No official plans on future releases, but we’ll probably be looking into doing various split vinyl releases.

So you’re probably wondering why the hell Facemelter isn’t out yet if we’re already writing new shit and thinking about new records.  Well, as has been the case for over a year, the artwork is taking forever.  Suffice to say we’re sick of waiting, so if it’s not done reasonably soon, we’ll just be changing plans for the artwork to get the album released as soon as possible.

That’s about it for now.  If you want us to play a show, definitely get in touch, especially if it’s somewhere we haven’t played in a while.  Take care dudes.

I’ve updated the site with a new, more functional, webstore (in the merch section).  You’ll notice that Facemelter is in the store, but it’s not yet available.  Pre-orders for that will be up at some point.  Also the cover art displayed is not the actual final artwork, just a placeholder.  There will probably also be some package deals available in the store once the new record is available.

Aside from that, I’ve also updated the links page, and I’m going to be overhauling the releases page sometime soon.

In non-website-related news, the new jams are flowing.  John is back and we’ll be getting together this weekend to practice and work on some new material.  I’ll post an update on where we are with that soon, as well as info on shows.

Vinyl has arrived!  I was pleased to load my car up with 500 Facemelter LP’s the other day to bring home.  It’s on three different colors, you can check out a picture of them here.  The layout is pretty much complete, we’re just waiting on the cover art.  So check back soon for updates on that.  Also we’ve written three new jams, and we’re confident that they are one-hundred-percent awesome.  Can’t wait to get them down with drums and vocals and eventually record them.  Anyway, keep on keepin’ on.

Facemelter test presses are in and it sounds awesome, so I’ll be giving the okay to get the records pressed this week.  Shouldn’t be too long now.  The artwork is still slowly coming along.  Though a lot of it is done at this point.

No shows for a little while, but new material is still being worked on.  And I’m extremely stoked on the new shit we’re writing.  We’re branching out in a few directions (all of which are heavy directions) to write what I think will be the best shit we’ve ever done.  The riffs… the riffs…
