Now Denial is a stoned-out punk/hardcore band from Greater Lowell/Allston, MA. The band formed in April of 2002, began writing
songs and playing shows as much as possible, and later in the year met Paul from Tor Johnson Records who expressed interest in
putting out a 7". Low and behold, by April of 2003, the Brothers Not Fighting 7" was released. The following summer,
Now Denial embarked on a two-week summer tour through the midwest. Followed by sporadic New England shows, and then a two-week
winter tour. The first few months of 2004 were spend finishing up some new songs, and the second weekend in April spawned
what was affectionately reffered to as "The Mountain Sessions". Now Denial and a few friends brought all their equipment and
recording equipment up to a cabin in Madison, NH. Fueled on coffee, beer, and weed, recording began (all of the equipment,
appropriately enough, was powered by a gas-fueled generator). The result was the Power to the Mountain LP/CD which was
released on Tor Johnson Records in June of 2004. In July of 2004, Now Denial set off on a month-long summer tour that spanned
the country. Following that summer, the band slowed down a little and focused on writing new material. Writing continued
throughout 2005, only playing sporadic shows throughout New England. During the Summer of 2006, the new album, Facemelter
was recorded in a home studio Lowell, MA, by Phil Trudel, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance in Cambridge, MA.
The CD version of Facemeleter will be released by Tor Johnson Records in late summer 2008, and the vinyl co-released by Gatehouse Anchor
and Hi From Camp Icarus Recordings around the same time. |
